I didn't know these existed until I stumbled on them while looking into every day carry items. I thought of a few times when I used the nail file with my small Swiss Army knife to remove large packaging staples from boxes. This pry bar seemed like it would be much better. Not a week after purchasing it, I had a chance to use it to pry old nailed-on slides off the bottom of chair legs. The pry bar worked great. It is not much longer than my mini champ Swiss Army knife. The metal is heavy gauge. Very happy with the purchase.

I guess I shouldn't expect much. This costs 30% less than a Gerber Shard, is slightly longer, and considerably less useful, but it isn't by any stretch useless. It is exactly what it claims to be. A tiny little prying tool that can be used to split things apart and pull small nails. It is quite suitable for that. It's also tiny, so what you can do is limited. You aren't going to be ripping open a wooden crate or pulling siding off a house with this...

great little item to keep on you and doesn't take up much space

I got this as a just in case item. Ive used it to remove nails in walls and 2×4s. Ive used it at work to pry up a built in stopper in a sink and drain water almost daily with no sign of rust. Used it to pry open the truck door when i locked the keys inside and managed to get the door unlocked again. Paint cans as well. Sometimes i have to put something under the bar while prying for more leverage and it works perfect. Are larger pry bars available? Yep. Could they handle a larger variety of tasks then this item? You bet. Can those other options fit in a pocket, key ring, or in my case a wallet? Nope. This is beyond useful if you are smart with how you use it.

On the one hand, I don't know what I should rate it for usefulness/durability as I haven't really had a chance to use it yet. On the other hand, it was under $2 with free shipping. Yes, it's a Chinese knock-off of a known brand, but let's be realistic, we're not talking about a hard use, life saving tool here. You don't buy one of these to hang in your garage. First responders don't carry these around to pry open doors of over turned burning cars to save the lives of those trapped inside. You spend $1.75, jam it on your key chain and use it to open the occasional paint can or whatever. Considering that, it's pretty tough to beat.
